These are the new ZuluSCSI Pico Slim boards within a handy ultra-ultra-small case with an external DB25 jack. These are the smallest SCSI SD card readers ever made. Powered internally with a Raspberry Pico W, this takes miniaturization to a new level - and works just like all of it's brothers in the ZuluSCSI family!
Note: some hosts, listed below, do not have a DB25 SCSI jack but a MDB50 or CEN50. So, we give you the option between a Pico Slim or the new SCSI Knife MDB50/CEN50 (a ZuluSCSI product). SCSI Knife does away with the extra adapter and functions very similar (if not identical) to the Pico Slim. We recommend that model for the MDB50/CEN50-SCSI hosts as it makes it much less prone to external abuse and damage.
They use a Micro SD card, and most samplers/hosts supply power via the SCSI line. (If they don't, simply use a USB Android cable plugged into a wall-charger.)
As far as functionality is concerned, the wonderful aspect of the ZuluSCSI Pico Slim is the ability to access up to SEVEN SCSI ID's; so it's really 7 drives in 1!
Further, what makes ZuluSCSI Pico Slim even more special is that it uses Image Files on a standard store-bought SD card for the drives it accesses. This is a significant improvement for proprietary disk formats (Akai, Roland, Ensoniq, Emu, MPC, etc.) and solves the inconvenient issues with SCSI2SD proprietary SD cards. It is far easier and faster to use with a computer.
We're not finished! For ultimate convenience, ZuluSCSI Pico Slim plugs right into your SCSI host without the need for a cable. There's nothing handier than that!
Please note: even though ZuluSCSI Pico Slim uses a Pico W board, it does not use the WiFi on the board to access the SD card. Even if it did, it would be far slower than either shuttling the SD card to your computer or hooking it up via USB.
Compatibility
ZuluSCSI Pico Slim/SCSI Knife works with all samplers, DAW's, and hosts we know of (which is all of them). All Ensoniq, Akai, MPC, Roland, Emu, Ensoniq, Kurzweil, Korg, Peavey, Synclavier, Fairlight, Waveframe samplers. We don't provide a list because we haven't found a sampler it DOESN'T work on.
