SCSI Knife Pocket MDB50

Regular price $99.95

SCSI Knife Pocket MDB50 is a ZuluSCSI variant (same specs) but with a male MDB50 connector for connectivity to hosts with this type of SCSI port.

Otherwise it has the same specs as ZuluSCSI Pico Slim, has a very similar micro form factor, but is built a little differently (with the same results). It is slightly taller, accesses the Micro SD card from the side, uses a USB-C connector, and has the Pi CPU soldered onto the board instead of using a Raspberry Pi Pico. The downside of this is if/when ZuluSCSI gets WiFi functionality, it won't be available for SCSI Knife Pocket MDB50. But, then, wired connectivity is often easier to use, faster, and more reliable.

Note: for all hosts except for the MPC2000XL, a more capable choice is the ZuluSCSI v6.4, but it costs about 65% more.

These are the new SCSI Knife Pocket MDB50 boards within a handy ultra-ultra-small case with an external DB25 jack. These are the smallest SCSI SD card readers ever made, taking miniaturization to a new level - and works just like all of it's cousins in the ZuluSCSI family! They use a Micro SD card, and most samplers/hosts supply power via the SCSI line. (If they don't, simply use a USB Android cable plugged into a wall-charger.)

As far as functionality is concerned, the wonderful aspect of the SCSI Knife Pocket MDB50 is the ability to access up to SEVEN SCSI ID's; so it's really 7 drives in 1!

Further, what makes it even more special is that it uses Image Files on a standard store-bought SD card for the drives it accesses. This is a significant improvement for proprietary disk formats (Akai, Roland, Ensoniq, Emu, MPC, etc.) and solves the inconvenient issues with SCSI2SD proprietary SD cards. It is far easier and faster to use with a computer.

We're not finished! For ultimate convenience, SCSI Knife Pocket MDB50 plugs right into your SCSI host without the need for a cable. There's nothing handier than that!

  • 64GB SD card, setup into at most 7 ID's, with the images of the SCSI host of your choice
